Asael Lopez-Urrutia is a 5th year Civil Engineering Major as a Geospatial Option and will be graduating in May 2023. His time at Cal Poly Pomona allowed him to be a general body and board member of the school’s CLSA Student Chapter and host the 2022 CPP Geomatics Conference as the Conference Chair. His love for surveying came after taking his Photogrammetry class and was strengthened even more after having a taste of Satellite Surveying. He has had the opportunity to strengthen his Civil3D skills and work with other programs such as Trimble Business Center and Context Capture. He is currently working as a Surveying Intern at Psomas Riverside and has had the opportunity to work on projects of different scales while he continues to earn his degree at Cal Poly Pomona. Post-graduation, he plans on continuing to a path of licensure as a surveyor and hopes to get the opportunity to work with new programs and technology that take advantage of what the Geospatial field has to offer.
